Grand Slam Will Likely Never Happen
by Jim Rome

So much for Tiger Woods' grand slam. And that's why it will probably never happen.

As great as Tiger Woods is, and I think he is already the greatest player ever, asking him or anyone else to peak four different times, in four totally different conditions, against the best players alive, in a single calendar year, is too much, even for Tiger Woods.

One bad round, and the dream is over. And that's what happened Saturday when he shot 81 at Muirfield.

What I am saying is, it's probably just not possible. The guy Tiger is chasing, Jack Nicklaus never did it. Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson never did it.

Bottom line here, if anyone can do it, it's Tiger Woods. I just don't happen to think that anyone can.
